The modern periodic table is the arrangement of all the known elements such that elements with similar characteristics are grouped. We know that the modern periodic table is made up of horizontal periods and vertical groups. In this article, we are going to study the similarities and periodicity of elements across the periodic table. We will study the different blocks: s-block, p-block, d-block, f-block and their characteristic properties, metals, metalloids, nonmetals, halogens, and noble gases.

Question 6. Compare the alkali metals and alkaline earth metals with respect to (i) ionization enthalpy, (ii) basicity of oxides, (iii) solubility of hydroxides.Answer: (i) Ionization enthalpy. Because of high nuclear charge the ionization enthalpyof alkaline earth metals are higher than those of the corresponding alkali metals.(ii) Basicity of oxides. Basicity of oxides of alkali metals are higher than that of alkaline earth metals.(iii) Solubility of hydroxides of alkali metals are higher than that of alkaline earth metals. Alkali metals due to lower ionization enthalpy are more electropositive than the corresponding group 2 elements.

Question 15. Compare the solubility and thermal stability of the following compounds of the alkali metals with those of the alkaline earth metals. (a) Nitrates (b) Carbonates (c) SulphatesAnswer: (a) Nitrates of both group 1 and group 2 elements are soluble in water because hydration energy is more than the lattice energy.Nitrates of both group 1 and group 2 elements are thermally unstable but they decompose differently except LiCO3 e.g.(b) Carbonates of group 1 elements are soluble in water except Li2CO3 They are also thermally stable except Li2CO3Group 2 carbonates are insoluble in water because their Lattice energy are higher than hydration energy.Thermal stability of carbonates of group 2 increases down the group because Lattice energy goes no increasing due to increase in ionic character.(c) Sulphates of group 1 are soluble in water except Li2SO4. They are thermally stable.Solubility of sulphates of group 2 decreases down the group because Lattice energy dominates over hydration energy.Sulphates of group 2 elements are thermally stable and increasing down the group due to increases in Lattice energy.

A printable periodic table is an essential tool for students and chemists. The periodic table lists the elements in order of increasing atomic number and includes other key facts, like atomic weight. You can place it where you need it while solving problems, mark it up, and print a new one whenever you like. This is a collection of free printable periodic tables in PDF file or PNG image format to save, print, and use. Some tables are available as slides in Google Apps. These periodic tables use accurate data for name, atomic number, element symbol, atomic weight, and electron configuration, obtained from the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry or IUPAC.

This is a collection of individual element cells that you can save and print. Individual element cells are supplied as PNG files, You may also download the entire collection of elements as a PDF file. A few color variations are available, including a black and white set of tiles.

The class attribute is used to specify the class name for an HTML element. Multiple elements in HTML can have the same class value. Also, it is mainly used to associate the styles written in the stylesheet with the HTML elements.

tag defines the body of the HTML document. It should always be enclosed in the tag. All the contents which needs to be displayed on the web page like images, text, audio, video, contents, using elements like , , , , , , etc. will always be enclosed by the tag. Also, there can be only 1 body element in an HTML document and will always be after the tag.

As HTML5 was all about better semantics and arrangements of the tags and elements, the tag specifies the header section of the webpage. Unlike in previous version there was one element for the entire webpage, now this is the header for one section such as or . According to the HTML5 specification, each element must at least have one tag.

The events pushed from the webserver to the browsers are called server-sent events. DOM elements can be continuously updated using these events. This has a major advantage over straight-up polling. In polling, there is a lot of overhead since every time it is establishing an HTTP connection and tearing it down whereas, in server-sent events, there is one long-lived HTTP connection. To use a server-sent event, element is used. The src attribute of this element specifies the URL from which sends a data stream having the events.

The solution thermodynamics of the water-soluble complexes formed between 3,4,3-LI(1,2-HOPO) and Zr(IV) or Pu(IV) were investigated to establish the metal coordination properties of this octadentate chelating agent. Stability constants log β110 = 43.1 0.6 and 43.5 0.7 were determined for [Zr(IV)(3,4,3-LI(1,2-HOPO))] and [Pu(IV)(3,4,3-LI(1,2-HOPO))], respectively, by spectrophotometric competition titrations against Ce(IV). Such high thermodynamic stabilities not only confirm the unparalleled Pu(IV) affinity of 3,4,3-LI(1,2-HOPO) as a decorporation agent but also corroborate the great potential of hydroxypyridinonate ligands as new (89)Zr-chelating platforms for immuno-PET applications. These experimental values are in excellent agreement with previous estimates and are discussed with respect to ionic radius and electronic configuration, in comparison with those of Ce(IV) and Th(IV). Furthermore, a liquid chromatography assay combined with mass spectrometric detection was developed to probe the separation of the neutral [M(IV)(3,4,3-LI(1,2-HOPO))] complex species (M = Zr, Ce, Th, and Pu), providing additional insight into the coordination differences between group IV and tetravalent f-block metals and on the role of d and f orbitals in bonding interactions. 2ff7e9595c
